For live experiences that connect us: As a business association, we are passionate about promoting the diverse concert and event industry. We represent the interests of concert and festival promoters, artist agencies, venue operators and touring companies to the public and to politicians.

The BDKV influences and optimizes the economic, political and legal framework conditions for concert, festival and tour event companies, guest performance management companies, artist management companies and event agencies in the pop and classical music sectors. The BDKV thus represents a significant part of the cultural and creative industries: by 2019, our member companies alone generated a total turnover of around 6 billion euros with over 120 million tickets per year.

The BDKV represents and advises its more than 470 member companies, particularly in the areas of tax and copyright law, artists’ social security contributions, GEMA tariff law and funding and assistance programs. In various competence partnerships, the BDKV is committed to diversity and equality (Keychange, Themis Vertrauensstelle gegen sexuelle Gewalt, REDEZEIT FÜR DICH), ecological sustainability (The Changency) and the promotion of young talent and skilled workers.

The BDKV is organized in various industry alliances (Forum Veranstaltungswirtschaft, Forum Musikwirtschaft, Koalition k3d, GWVR) in order to optimize the legal and economic framework conditions. Background: The Bundesverband der Konzert- und Veranstaltungswirtschaft e.V. (BDKV) is the professional association of all sectors and genres of the German concert and event industry as well as the service professions in the field of artist support, founded in 2018 with effect from January 1, 2019. It was formed from the merger of the Bundesverbands der Veranstaltungswirtschaft (bdv), which has existed since 1985, and the Verbandes der deutschen Konzertdirektionen (VDKD), which was founded in 1946.
